Hospital Tour
Yesterday we were able to tour Lankenau Hospital's Labor & Deliver. Here is a video if you'd like to take a peek. We were excited to find out they had valet. :o)
We'll be attending our childbirth class this Saturday. I'm sure it will spur some nightmares......

4 Pounder....
Jay and I went to have an ultrasound this past Friday. This is pretty much the only benefit of GD. Lily is measuring at 4 pounds which is in the 57 percentile. If she grows at the same rate for the remainder of the pregnancy she should be 8 pounds when we are full term. We also learned that she's head down and ready to go. :o)

It's been awhile.....

I hit a little bump in the road (might have had to do with that cake) and was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. At the moment I seem to be able to control it well with testing and diet. If I can keep my sugars in line Lily should be A-OK!
We've been doing a lot around the house to prepare for Lily. We got new windows from Window Wizards throughout the house. Jason has been working on that basement bathroom. He hopes to have it finished within the next week or so. After that he can start to demo the upstairs bathrooms.
We've been putting together Lily's room little by little. The painting is done and furniture is assembled/painted. We need a couple more items and then we can pull it all together.
Since our showers are complete we spent some time getting the other stuff necessary for when Lily arrives. We settled on the City Jogger Mini and I can't wait till it comes on Saturday!

Nursery and Registry

We've officially decided on a Nursery Theme. We are going with a Sweet Lambie collection at Pottery Barn Kids. We will paint the room blue or pink depending on our ultrasound at the end of the month.
Since we've decided on the theme we've started putting together our registries as well. I must say this is a great way to organize all of the things we need...and apparently we need a lot! One of my girlfriends suggested the Baby Bargins book. It has really helped to weed out what we need versus all that is out there. It also has pointed us in the direction of quality baby products that don't cost an arm and a leg.
We started registering at Pottery Barn Kids and Babies R Us.

Baby Loveland's first vacation will be to Dreams Tulum, Mexico this weekend. We'll be making the trip for Dave and Nicki's Wedding. The swine flu isn't stopping them this year. It's perfect timing with this anticipated Nor'easter!

We have a heartbeat!

A healthy 179 beats per minute to be exact. These past couple days have been stressful at times, but it was all worth it to see the baby and hear his/her heartbeat.
We met with our OB, Dr. Heinzel. He was patient, understanding, and very positive about our pregnancy. We also found out he frequently runs by our house so we'll have to keep a look out for when we have questions. :o) He gave us several photos. We'll work on getting a higher quality scan for the blog. We found out we are a week behind what we originally thought. The due date has changed from 9/6 to 9/13.

Baby L's First Cousin is Born!

Graeme Robert Loveland was born 1/16/2010 @ 5lbs 8oz
Nicole and Justin overcame a surprise home birth. Nicole and Graeme are doing well.
We are going to head up to NH next weekend to see the happy family!
Lessons learned: Go to the hospital as soon as you feel a contraction!

Keep Laughing

We got a nice surprise in the mail today! Nicole sent us Jenny McCarthy's book Belly Laughs. Can't wait to read it. I'm sure it's hysterical...hopefully it doesn't scare the crap out of me!
Thanks Nicole!

Bathroom Remix

Learning we were pregnant was amazing, wonderful news....and then reality set in for Jay and his bathroom remodeling responsibilities. There are three 80's fabulous bathrooms that need to be remodeled in a short 8 months.
So we now have a huge tile saw sitting in pieces on the middle of our living room just waiting to be put together.
Then why is he sitting on the couch, wearing my snuggie, drinking wine, and watching Villanova.
I guess the bathroom remodels start tomorrow night. :o)

We're having a baby!
.jpg)
On Saturday January 2, 2009 we took our first pregnancy test. After some time a faint line showed....too faint for Jason to take seriously. So the next morning we got a no nonsense Clear Blue Digital that actually spells it out for you.
We couldn't have been more excited. While it's not customary to spread the news to early we just had to tell some family and a couple friends so the phone calls and visits began.
We are going to keep it quiet from work and others until the first Doctor appointment at least. I made the appt. today. It's for February 4th. Our OB is with Main Line Health.
We are 5 weeks today and can't wait to watch our little bean grow!
